About the course

Why I built this.

I have spent thirty years in marketing, and I have sat in the room where a CFO asks what the spend actually returned - and watched a very good marketer go quiet. Not because they did not know their work. Because nobody ever taught them how to translate it.

Who is behind it

Finance for Marketers is Gail Cook's answer to a problem she watched for thirty years: good marketers going quiet when a CFO asks what the spend actually returned.

What I wanted to fix

I built this because I want marketers to be credible in the room where money is discussed.

Commercial and financial understanding is critical for great marketers. It is the difference between being asked for your view and being told the budget after the decision has been made.

Most marketers were never taught how their work lands in a P&L. So they report what they can measure - reach, clicks, ROAS - and hope it translates. The fix isn't a finance degree. It's being able to show your working.

That's what this course does. It starts where you are, in plain English, and builds one idea at a time. Getting it wrong here is the point: you can try, be corrected and try again before you ever say it out loud in a budget meeting.

Finance for Marketers is a KailieTech Ltd brand, founded and run by Gail Cook.

What you will find inside

No finance background needed. The diagnostic works out where you already are, and the course starts there.

  • Plain English first

Every term is explained in ordinary words before it is used. Nobody throws acronyms at you to see if you flinch.

  • Short lessons

Twelve lessons of eight to fourteen minutes, so learning fits between the work rather than after it.

  • Worked examples

Real numbers, shown step by step, so you can follow the thinking and then copy it for your own campaign.

  • Questions to expect

A ten-question CFO question bank, so you know what will be asked in the next review and what a good answer sounds like.

  • Tools you keep

Working calculators for campaign affordability and finance, plus a plain-English glossary of the terms that come up in budget meetings.

  • Proof you finished

Pass the course assessment and download a certificate with your name on it to share or print.
